One new book, “The Family Glass,” is said to include five new stories about the Glass family, who also appeared in the book “Franny and Zooey” and other stories. the book is still being taught; I suspect that Author: PJ Grisar. Franny and Zooey is just pages long. I write that not to advocate it as a quick read or even to suggest that it might be cheap (although both might be handy for the beach).
Franny and Zooey is a fascinating book, but after living with it for a few weeks, I’m not sure I’d recommend it to anyone looking for an introduction to JG Salinger.
Here there is Franny, a shorter story, and Zooey, much longer at odd pages. Franny is in line with the Nine Stories type of story. Zooey is a bit more discursive, it is too long to be a short story but the plot itself doesn't really justify a longer length (for me).
